The Spam Petition website, #1 in Google, has attracted the attention of Vanquish labs who are offering the 20 prizes for both personal and business use in this competition, worth $24.95 to $150 each.

Competition rules

  1. Sign the spam petition using your full name, details on the Spam petition homepage
  2. Subscribe to the spam petition mailing list using your full name, (this allows us to match the mailing list entry to the name on the spam petition. The link to do this is above.
  3. Answer these four simple questions:
    1. According to the spam petition website, what percentage of email in 2005 was spam?
    2. According to the spam petition website, how much did this spam cost in 2005?
    3. According to recent news articles and the Spam Legal Action website, how much did Nigel Roberts receive recently as a cheque in an out of court settlement against a company which sent e-mail spam, using a European wide law to back his case?
    4. How much does an introductory 15 day trial of the Vanquish labs Personal Anti-spam account normally cost? Hint
    Send your entry with your name, email address (the same as that on the newsletter mailing list) and 4 answers to You also need to specify if you want the personal edition $24.95 or you are a business and need enterprise level spam protection (value $150).   4. There are 20 Vanquish labs anti-spam accounts to be won. There is an option of a personal anti-spam account or a virtual business account whichever is more appropriate for your needs. The prize is a one year subscription to the service, normal price $24.95 for the personal account or $150 for the enterprise service. Payment after the 12 month period is the responsibility of the winner. There is no obligation to continue using the service after the 12 month period.
  5. What happens if I try Vanquish or I'm an existing customer but don't want to wait for the drawing? We will refund your money in full if you win.
  6. The first 10 winners will be chosen from the first 500 names on the spam petition (odds of winning 1:50). The next 10 winners will be chosen from the names on the spam petition within the range 501-5000 (odds of winning 1:450). Winners will be selected at random and prizes will only be allocated to entrants who have complied with the terms and conditions and correctly answered the questions.
  7. The competition will end on 31st December 2006 or when 5000 people have signed the Spam Petition, whichever occurs first. The winners will be chosen after 500 and 5000 people have signed the spam petition respectively or when the competition ends, whichever occurs first.
  8. Only one entry per person. A valid email address must be used to join the newsletter, as this is the method that will be used to contact winners.
  9. Only subscribers to the newsletter with a valid email address at the time of the prizes being allocated may win a prize. You can unsubscribe yourself at any time if you do not want to receive the newsletter.
  10. The winner may chose whatever email address or addresses that they wish to protect, these need not be the same as the email address they have given to enter the competition.
  11. The competition is open to anyone with an email address, regardless of which country they live in, however is void where prohibited by local law.
  12. Winners' names only (i.e. no email addresses) will be posted on this website.
  13. Entrance to the competition denotes acceptance of these rules. We reserve the right to amend the competition closing date.
